The Workshop
This workshop provides an introduction to systematic reviews, aimed at clinicians who want to understand how to use a systematic review in their practice.
It covers the basic structure of a systematic review, how to critically appraise the quality of a review, search strategies, and interpreting the results of a systematic review. No previous experience with systematic reviews is required.
Workshop Objectives
- To understand the need for systematic (rather than unsystematic) reviews
- To understand the advantages and dangers of meta-analysis
- To be able to critically appraise a systematic review
- To be able to interpret the different types of plots and statistical outputs of meta-analyses
